Sydney’s a wonderful city in which to be a tourist
(even if it is your hometown), and a good hotel in the heart of the city is a
great starting point. Establishment Hotel is a bit of a paradox, offering
strikingly modern, luxury, boutique accommodation in a grand old city building
that caters for much larger crowds in its bars and restaurants, some of which
retain heritage features (such as pressed metal ceilings and towering columns)
from the original, fire-damaged, 19th century building.
Accommodation consists of 31 rooms, including 2
two-storey penthouses, decorated in either bold tones with black floorboards
and splashes of strong colour, or more tranquil, neutral tones. All feature
beautiful modern furnishings, premium pure cotton linen and generous bathrooms
with the hotel’s signature Bulgari green tea toiletries.
Close to Circular Quay, The Rocks, Sydney Opera
House, Botanical Gardens and CBD shopping, there’s plenty outside the hotel to
keep guests busy. But with est., one of Sydney’s finest restaurants, on the
first floor, Japanese restaurant sushi-e and the luxurious Hemmesphere bar on
the fourth floor and three popular bars, Establishment, Garden and Tank Stream,
on the ground floor, there’s plenty to enjoy without leaving the building as
well.
